Alex Acuna Brush Workout

A couple of years ago I was reading the bio of Alex Acuña. His bio not only inspired me to resume a regular practice schedule, but to strive for excellence and learn some new things. The life he lives sets a good example and the advice he gives is good for anyone in every facet of life, whether or not they play drums.

“I have learned that it is not enough to have the gift of music, but that I have to shine that gift by practicing with discipline, love and perseverance. This holds true in every dimension of life – not just music. Practicing is for the precise execution; discipline is for building character; love is for developing better relationships with people; and finally, perseverance is needed to finish “the race” well – wherever it takes you.”

-Alex Acuña

That’s worth committing to memory!
